An Abdominal Aorta Ultrasound ultrasound can determine if any blockages or aneurysms are present in the aorta (a large blood vessel found in the center of the body which distributes blood from the heart). The walls of the aorta can become weak over time which results in a rupture, or aneurysm, in the blood vessel. If left untreated, an aneurysm can lead to internal bleeding and death.
